For some it may seem like yesterday, because everyday there is something new.

It is almost a year and while we have made progress, many feel that the greatest country in the world has fallen short of addressing this pandemic.

I am not here to cast blame, I am here however to ask you to think. Think about you, the only being that you can control.

What have you done? What have you done consistently? What did you fail to do? What would you do differently? No matter the capacity, are you part of this mission? Any capacity of involvement is involvement. This is NOT about rank!

While my front line may look different than yours, I am here, present and engaged. This is where I want to be at this time in history. Where do you want to be? Wherever that may be, are you ready?

  1. The past year I have taken advantage on focusing on my studies and those who are close to me. The pandemic has also helped me realize the importance of not isolating myself from past friendships. Reaching out to old friends, coworkers and classmates has opened my eyes in seeing how others are dealing with the current situation. Talk about safety during the pandemic has been brought up in each conversation and I’m happy to hear the people around me wanting to practice safety each day so we can return to normal again.

    1. I am really grateful for working on the frontline this past year. The experience was intimidating and disappointing. I was satisfied to be there for patients when they needed me the most. Many frontline staff were having a difficult time because there was not enough staff, working long hours, and worried about their own health. People were still coming to work sharing their kindness and compassion for others…
