"The Covid-19 Vaccine"

It’s been three weeks since I began vaccinating the NYC community. It is certainly an emotional event for many. Yesterday was the inauguration and one person felt their being vaccinated, along with this historical event, was one of the best days of their life.

I was brought to tears on a few occasions. One man over 70+ years old mentioned the fact that his daughter was now pregnant. He stated he wanted the vaccine, not because of his age, but because he wanted to see his daughter and his future grandbaby. I mean I don’t really have winter allergies, however my eyes were so watery. Hasn’t this pandemic always been about keeping one another safe.

Many felt this was the best birthday gift they could give themselves while others cried and verbalized the fact that they were “lucky” to receive the vaccine.

It’s been a whirlwind and we have a ways to go. I pray that the hearts I have seen from this new Administration will continue to demonstrate empathy and do ALL within their power to maintain the safety and security of our Democracy and ALL people of America!
